Metro Central is the Metro Community's mid-week home. The centre is open three days a week to anyone looking for family, safety and belonging. The centre offers a wide variety of resources, activities and volunteer opportunities to anyone who comes to participate.

RESOURCES AND ACTIVITIES

Social Enterprise Coffee Shop - this is in the heart of metro Central. The coffee shop is totally volunteer run and serves a variety of hot beverages including free tea and apple cider.

Computers - three top of the line Mac computers available for use in communication, job searches, resume building and other essential day-to-day functions

Local and Long-Distance Phones - all phone calls at Metro Central are free. The main phone is available to anyone needing to make local calls weather personal or support based. The coffee bar phone is used for long-distance calls but must be approved before use.

Laundry Services - Metro Central has one washer and dryer available for free on a first-come-first-serve basis. Laundry soap and drier sheets are also provided for free. 

Clothing Room - the clothing room is only available under staff or volunteer supervision. Supplies are replenished weekly with seasonaly relevant items. Typcial items include shoes, boots, socks, jackets, sweaters, pants, toiletries and personal items.

Music Room - our fully equipped music room has keyboard, drums, amps, and guitar available to anyone looking for an outlet a practice space or just a chance to jam with new artists. The room is also available on a first-come-first serve basis.

Art room - the art room is a quiet space full of art supplies including, canvas, paper, hot glue, paint, brushes and more.

Hot Lunches - the Metro Central kitchen is operated by food-safe trained volunteers who help facilitate daily lunches. Lunches are either sponsored, pre-maid, or maid on site by others in the community who want to share their time and cooking talent for the benefit of the community. Lunch is served at noon on Tuesdays and Thursdays. VOLUNTEER TO MAKE LUNCHES

Frozen Meals - these meals are provided by volunteer families in our community for those in need who are unable to acess other food resources or who do not receive enougth food support. Meals are limited to two at a time and are available only while supplies last. VOLUNTEER TO MAKE MEALS

Community Garden - calling all green thumbs! The Metro Central community garden is hosted in Metro's beautiful back patio. Each spring our four larger planter boxes and long wall planters are filled with vegetables, herbs and flowers for the community to share. The harvest form these plants often becomes part of our daily Metro meal. VOLUNTEER WITH THE COMMUNITY GARDEN
